After breakfast, departure for Bari. Visit to St Nicholas' Basilica
and romanesque cathedral Promenade by the Antica Muraglia (Ancient
Wall) where you can enjoy a wonderful view of sea. Lunch in a
typical restaurant to taste specialities from the coast of Bari,
as well as famous orecchiette. In the afternoon, departure for
Trani. The port, which is the old centre of urban life, is situated
between two small promontories: St Anthony's blockhouse towers
on the one and Cathedral on the other. Visit to the church of
Ognissanti. Promenade in the old town. Return to Conversano.
Frederick's castles
Castel del Monte - Ruvo (UNESCO heritage)
After
breakfast, departure for Castel del Monte. Considered as one of
the most perfect examples of medieval art, it is a mysterious
and attractive castle, situated on a rise of Murge. Probably used
as hunting residence, it was traditionally attributed to Frederick
II nd of Swabia. Going on to Cantine Torrevento, an ancient stone
cantina with wonderful views of the castle and tasting of d.o.c.
wines. Stop for lunch in a historical farmhouse situated in front
of Castel del Monte, where Rosa will make delicious traditional
dishes of ancient recipies. In the afternoon, departure for Ruvo
and visit to the Jatta Museum and the cathedral. Return to Conversano.
Underground life
Matera - Noci (UNESCO Heritage)
After breakfast, departure for Matera and visit to Sassi (blocks
of rock), which are included in UNESCO heritage. Lunch in restaurant
in the same area of sassi. In the afternoon, departure for Noci
and visit to Cantine del Barsento with a warm welcome from the
owners and the oenologist and tasting of the good wines.

Grottaglie - Putignano
After breakfast, departure for Grottaglie: visit to the quarter
of potter's art, where craftsmen show their works and sell them
in typical small shops. Lunch in a picturesque trattoria, where
you can eat excellent local meat. In the afternoon, going on to
Putignano. Visit to craftsmen's shops to attend the working of
manufactures and typical products.Tasting of "salumi"
producted by Libest. Going on to the industrial area and visit
to well-known laboratories of dairy products. Tasting.
Return to Conversano.
Romanesque style in Puglia
Bitonto - Montegrosso - Ruvo - Bari
After breakfast, departure for Bitonto and visit to the cathedral,
wonderful building celebrating romanesque style in Puglia. The
facade is decorated with a 16-armed rose window. Going on to the
delle Zagare oil-press at the Azienda Agricola Conte Onofrio Spagnoletti
Zeuli in Montegrosso. From here, on one side the enchanting landscapes
of the Gargano and on the other Frederick II's imposing castle
can be glimpsed throgh the olive trees. Tasting of the company's
wine and highly-esteemed olive oil. There will be an opportunity
to purchase various olive oil preserves and the Count's own famous
soup. Lunch in a local farm-house.
Afternoon: departure for Ruvo, where you can visit the cathedral,
whose romanesque style is dated back to 1200. The cathedral is
characterized by a central portal, filed with lions and snouts.
Going on to Bari and visit to the St Nicholas' Basilica and the
cathedral.
Return to Conversano.

Martina Franca - Locorotondo - Alberobello
(UNESCO heritage)
After
breakfast, departure for Martina Franca. Promenade in the historical
centre and visit to the main palaces (XVI-XVIII centuries) of
notable architectural interest. Visit to the St Martin's collegiate
church, Duke's Palace, St Dominick's church and the church of
Carmine. Going on to Locorotondo. visit to the imposing Cantina
Sociale del Locorotondo and tasting of d.o.c. wines with the help
of expert sommeliers.
Lunch in a local trattoria where Giovanni will make for you:.orecchiette
with meat sauce, strozzapreti with aubergine, mushrooms and speck,
cavatelli with tomatoes and salsiccia.
In the afternoon, departure for Alberobello. Arrival at the town's
main square and visit to Trullo sovrano, D'Amore house, Aia Piccola
quarter (Medieval style), Monti quarter together with the visit
to Trullo Siamese.

Lecce - Acaya - Scorrano
After breackfast, departure for Lecce, one of thr historical capitals
of Baroque art.
Visit to the cathedral, the bishop's palace, the seminary and
Santa Croce church.
At the end of the morning, walk in the Old Town and visit to the
papier-machè craftshops.
Lunch in a local trattoria in Acaya within the castle's walls
and tasting of tipical dishes wich Carlo makes.
Afternoon, departure for Scorrano and visit to the Azienda Agraria
Duca Guarini di Poggiardo in a splendid building belonging to
a family of ancient noble tradition.
Guided tasting of the excellent wines.

Tarallucci, wine and olive
oil
Ostuni - Montalbano - Fasano
After breakfast, departure for Ostuni. Perched on three hills
and enclosed by Aragonese walls, the splendid town of Ostuni owes
its frame to the way it has developed vertically rather than orizontally
and to the blinding reflection from the white-washed walls of
its houses. Nice walk in the meanders of the "white town",
stop for shopping in typical artisan's shops and visit to the
fifteenth century cathedral.
Going on to the most important farm houses of Montalbano. Finally,
visit to an ancient underground oil mill, today's Olive Oil Museum
inside the St Lawrence's Farm House and snack with "friselline",
typical local dish dressed with olive oil. Stop for lunch in old
"masserie", where you can taste and buy home-made products:
virgin olive oil, cheeses, mozzarelle, vegetables in oil, cherries
and jams.
In the afternoon, departurefor Fasano. Visit to Cantine Borgo
Canale, located amid the beautiful scenary of the vinestrewn Canale
di Pirro, where a dessert and d.o.c. wines will be served.
Return in the evening to Conversano.
Conversano, art town
After breakfast, promenade in the historical centre and visit
to the cathedral. Stop at the St Benedict's Monastery and the
Castle. Theme-visit to Paolo Finoglio's works in the picture gallery
and visit to the baroque St. Cosma and Damiano churches. Visit
to the sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola (XV-XVI centuries)
and to the St Catherine's small church (XII century). Lunch in
a typical "masseria". In the afternoon, visit to the
Marchione Castle, noble hunting residence.
Return to Conversano.
